ICAR’ AIEEA UG 2017 entrance exam result is expected to be declared on June 30, 2017.
All India Entrance Examination for admission to Undergraduate programs (AIEEA 2017) has been conducted today by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). ICAR’s AIEEA UG 2017 has been conducted across 52 regional centers wherein over 50,000 candidates appeared. There is no provision for official answer key release, however, some coaching centers many provide the same to help the students assess their performance in the entrance exam. ICAR notified the 22nd All India Entrance Examination for admission to Bachelor (AIEEA-UG 2017) degree programmes in Agriculture and allied Sciences at Agricultural Universities in April. The online applications for the entrance exam were submitted from April 20 to May 6. The entrance exam was initially scheduled for May 13, but the exam date was shifted to June 10.
ICAR AIEEA 2017 Answer Key
The entrance exam was conducted as an offline exam and the candidates were provided with OMR answer sheets to mark the answers. The question booklets were provided as two series – Series 1 & 2. While ICAR is unlikely to release the answer keys of the entrance exam, some unofficial sources (including coaching institutes) may release their versions of AIEEA answer key.
ICAR AIEEA UG 2017 – Exam Analysis
Overall, the entrance exam was set as a single question paper consisting 300 questions. The questions were equally distributed among five subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Agriculture. The candidates had to attempt only three out of five subjects, based on the their qualification and eligibility.
Each subject had 60 multiple choice questions. The candidates will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted from total score for each wrong response. The maximum marks in the entrance exam will remain 720.
Admissions through ICAR AIEEE 2017
ICAR has been conducting the national-level entrance exam for admissions to 15% seats available in the Agricultural Universities across the Country. The test also includes 100 percent seats in NDRI Karnal, RLB CAU, Jhansi, and Dr. RP CAU, Pusa, Bihar.
There are total 1,799 seats on offer through the ICAR AIEEA 2017. The break-up of seats available in the academic session 2017-18 comes out as 1,021 seats in Agriculture, 211 in Horticulture, 55 in Forestry, 83 in Fisheries, 104 in Community Science, 7 in Sericulture, 177 in Agricultural Engineering, 72 in Dairy Technology, 29 in Food Technolgoy, and 40 seats in Biotechnology.
The results of the entrance exam will be announced on June 30 (tentative date), while the admissions will be made through online counselling. The online counselling is scheduled to be held in three rounds, commencing from July 7. ICAR will prepare an overall merit-rank list on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam and will use it for admission purpose.
