  • There are 14 agriculture private colleges in Tamil Nadu. You need to apply online to TNAU portal to seek admission in these colleges. The online application process may start in the months of May/June

  • Please give me some more time. I have not worked on that. Currently admissions in AP are going on. So I am busy with that work. I can able to do something on your question in the month of Jan/Feb.

  • If I study bsc agriculture from any private state university recognized by ugc which have no Icar recognition, will my degree be valid in future same as those degrees from Icar recognized… please reply to this message.. I need to know this very urgently.please

  • ICAR recognises only State Agriculture Universities. Universities like Anna University, although they are very reputed with high academic standards, are only recognised by UGC and other professional bodies like AICTE, etc but not by ICAR. As I said already, there are only 42 state agriculture universities like TNAU, KAU, ANGRAU etc. established by the respective state governments, are recognised by ICAR. Except these 42 SAUs, additionally, there are 4 Central Universities and 1 Deemed university which are also recognised by ICAR for BSc Agriculture courses. They are Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, U.P. (Central University with Agriculture Faculty), Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur, Nagaland University’s School of Agricultural Sciences & Rural Development (SASARD), Medziphema, Nagaland (Central University with Agriculture Faculty), Vishwa Bharti, Shantiniketan, West Bengal (Central University with Agriculture Faculty) and one private deemed university i.e., Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences (Deemed University), Allahabad, UP. For complete list of ICAR recognised universities, please visit this link. http://icarcolleges.in/list-of-icar-recognised-agriculture-universities-for-ag-bsc-in-india/. Hope that your doubt is cleared.

  • Pondicherry University is not listed in the ICAR recognised universities list for BSc Agriculture course, although the university and its affilaited government college Pajancoa, Karaikal are both very reputed and popular for agriculture courses. ICAR recognises only state agriculture universities like TNAU, KAU, ANGRAU etc. and 3 central universities i.e. Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, U.P, Nagaland University’s, School of Agricultural Sciences & Rural Development (SASARD), Vishwa Bharti, Shantiniketan, West Bengal and One Deemed University under private management, i.e. Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences (Deemed University), Allahabad.
