Seven (7) New Agri Colleges to comeup in Jharkhand from 2017

Thursday, June 9, 2016 – Ranchi: The state government today decreed that seven new agricultural colleges would become functional in Jharkhand from the 2017 academic session, providing a fillip to farm studies and research in the state. Buildings for the seven new agriculture colleges were nearly ready and that the management of these new colleges would vest with the state government. All sanctioned posts of teachers of these colleges would be filled through Jharkhand Public Service Commission. The new agri colleges are,

  1. Agricultural College, Garhwa
  2. Tilka Majhi Agricultural College, Godda
  3. Dairy Technological College, Hansdiha, Dumka district
  4. Rabindranath Tagore Agricultural College, Deoghar
  5. Agricultural Engineering College, Kanke, Ranchi
  6. Horticultural College, Khuntpani, Chaibasa
  7. and Fisheries Technological College, Gumla

New Horticultural College at Khuntpani, Chaibasa, would be handed over to the state school education and literacy department to be developed as a composite school for farm studies.
